About the Artist

Growing up in southern Ontario, Artist Scott O’Neil has always had a passion for art and creating. At a young age Scott began to develop his skills in oil paintings. With private lessons, many workshops and post-secondary training he honed his talent into fine works of art.

Scott has won many awards over the years, most recently  the PEI Art Battle Finals and the Montague Plein Air Festival People’s Choice Award.

Since Scott and his wife Holly migrated to Prince Edward Island in 2013, he has become involved in many of the Island Charities, Shows, Fairs, Exhibits, Crafts Council and The Coastal Tourism Partnership. In 2014 ONeil Home Gallery opened and then expanded in 2015 to include other artisan products and a Café.

Regardless if working plein air or painting in his studio, the beauty of everyday life inspires Scott to capture that moment on canvas. Scott mostly works in oils to create amazing landscapes, seascapes, life portrayals and custom artworks. O’Neil does from time to time work with pencil, acrylic and watercolours.

Labelled as representational art and often referred to as realistic yet with the quality of softness. Customers often comment that they are like photos only better!

O'Neil takes great pride in preserving memories to canvass.

"Everywhere we look there are inspirations beckoning to be seized and captured in time. All too often, appreciation occurs after these moments have passed. I feel fortunate and enjoy sharing my passion by creating artworks that preserve the beauty in our everyday lives."

- Scott O'Neil
